One of the things I love about summer in the country is buying fresh veggies from the local farms. Last week I went to the Barrie Farmer’s Market for the first time in about 2 years. It has really grown, with lots of new vendors and also my same old favourites. I bought some cool organic purple beans, and then later in the week I bought some colourful heirloom carrots from Barrie Hill Farms. For some reason I find great pleasure in buying colourful veggies, especially if they’re the “wrong” colour.
