New Years in Niagara

We went on a mini-getaway with my family to Niagara Falls over New Years this year. We stayed at the White Oaks Resort for 3 nights and enjoyed their gorgeous rooms, great restaurants, and their spa and fitness facilities.

When we first arrived, Laura and I headed straight for the border to do some shopping in Buffalo. When we returned, the whole family went out for dinner to the supposedly haunted Angel Inn for Andrea’s birthday dinner. After dinner, we went for a drive by the Falls and checked out the Festival of Lights. Brandon really enjoyed seeing all the different displays.

The following day, we spent the morning in the pool. In the afternoon, my family watched the kids and Kieran and I had some alone time. We went to the Niagara outlets for some more shopping.

For New Year’s Eve, we went out to dinner to the infamous Copacabana Brazilian Steakhouse, where the staff comes around to your table offering about 15 different types of meat, sliced right onto your plate. We all really loved the food and the entertainment as well. My cousin Katrina and her boyfriend Andrew were also in Niagara so they joined us for dinner.

After dinner, we returned to the resort and went to the New Years dance they were having. We danced and drank and rang in the new year! Even the kids stayed up…although they both crashed at about 12:04am.

The following day we went to the IHOP for breakfast, took a drive through Niagara-on-the-Lake, and hung out in the pool and our rooms.
