Slacker
I know I have been slacking on my blog a bit lately....It has been a crazy month, as I unexpectedly returned back to work early. I was offered a position teaching Adult Education in the Simcoe Public board and it was such a good opportunity I had to take it, even though it meant giving up 5 months of my maternity leave. It was a hard decision to make because of course Brandon comes before work with me, and I didn't want to look back and regret not having those months with him at home. But then I figured that not having to commute to my previous job in Toronto anymore means more time with Brandon in the long run, as now I am only 20 minutes from home and the position allows me some flexibility in being able to stay home for certain time periods if I so choose.
Anyways, the job is going well and I am really enjoying the change of atmosphere. There are some nice luxuries that come along with teaching adult education, such as few/no behaviour issues, no dealing with parents, etc. I have also started teaching night school 2 nights a week. It is a literacy and numeracy upgrading program, so it is not a lot of prep or marking and the students just work independently according to their level. It's pretty easy as far as night school goes, but it does still make for long days and busy weeks.
In light of all this, I haven't had time for much else lately. Being back at work really makes me value my "off" time and spending time at home resting and spending time with Brandon and Kieran has been my priority. We did manage to sneak in some time at the cottage last weekend, however, with our friends Rachelle and Ilan. Here are some random pics from this past month.
